I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, cards, and calls during my surgery. Everything went just fine! Of course I feel like I've been hit by a mack truck, but I am on the road to recovery. A few things I want to share, then I will get on with shop stuff.
When I got to the hospital the other night, 3 of the 4 nurses getting me "preped" were customers/friends...Vicky, Angela and Chantel. Even though Vicky was supposed to be getting off work, she stayed and helped with my IV. She always goes beyond the call of duty, and has been such a good friend and an enormous help to me. Thanks so much! Wait a minute...the thought just hit me...why did she stay to help with the IV? Was it because she wanted to help or was it because she wanted to inflict pain on me??????LOL!!! Just kidding!!!!
So anyway, 4 nurses, Roger and I are in the hospital room carrying on and of course talking about the shop and quilts and so on, and Roger finally popped up and said, "Are we going to have a surgery or a quilt party?" What a party pooper!
The doc came in a little while later, and let me tell you, he is so nice! As he was talking to me, he kept getting closer, and put his hand on my left shoulder. When he finished talking, he asked. "Can I pray with you?" Oh my! I was shocked and so pleasantly surprised! I grabbed his hand and said YES! It is so wonderful to have a doctor that relies on God instead of thinking he is God!
After the surgery, the doc told Roger that this is the kind of surgery he likes to do because my gall bladder was in such bad shape, he knows it was the right thing to do to remove it. That is very encouraging!
Now, other than being sore and walking like I am 90, I am already feeling some better! I actually ate and it didn't hurt me!
During my absence at the shop, I am hearing that my MIAs are returning from their sicknesses (that would be Barb, Bobbie and Carolyn) and that between Nic, Virgie, Vicky and Barb, they are keeping everything running smoothly. Of course I had to have some new shipments come in while I am gone!!!!
While I am home, I am catching up on some bookwork, computer stuff and Quilt in a Box Blocks. This Saturday is the Winter Block exchange.
Think I better close for now, my pain meds are making me whoosie. Hopefully I will get the Games posted by the weekend.
Hope to see you soon!
Lynne
